GKK Initial Workplace Validation at NY Marine Resources and Iceplant Corporation

The Regional GKK Secretariat composed of Ms. Espinosa, OSHC; Mr. Go, ECC; and Ms. Joaquin, DOLE LLCO, conducted an initial workplace evaluation at NY Marine Resources on 4 February 2016. The on-site validation activities include presentation of company OSH programs, open forum/ discussion with validators and concerned company personnel, walkthrough of the company premises and validation with the community.

NY Marine has safety and health policies in place and can still be strengthened. Programs must be monitored for its implementation. Their reporting system must also be reviewed as there are DOLE Reportorial requirements that they miss. They have a Safety Practitioner but they lack OH Personnel.
