Conducted Special Assessment or Visit of Establishment (SAVE) at NOVO Store, Valencia City

The inspection conducted jointly by Bureau of Working Condition, Department of Labor and Employment and Occupational Safety and Health Center under Administrative Order No. 106-A, is an assessment conducted to determine the establishment compliance with General Labor Standards and Occupational Safety and Health Standard.


Ocular Inspection was conducted on April 4, 2016 at Novo, Valencia City, Bukidnon. Upon Interview the following were noted: There was no safety officer & no first aider. The number of workers employed were 24, and not all are stay-in. The following necessities of an establishment were absent like safety Signages and Medical Facilities/ Medicines. The following were present but very poor, not meeting the standards. They are using very defective ladder, dangerous for workers used. The Fire Exits are not visible, several obstructions were found like holes and beyond were construction equipment’s not yet removed. Ventilation was poor both in offices and workplace. Comfort rooms are unkept, a sign of poor housekeeping. Upon further verification, we found the absence of the following: No OSH Program and No Trained Safety Committee. There was a D.O. No. 102-10 (HIV-AIDS Policy), D.O. No. 05-10 (Hepatitis B), D.O. No. 73-05 (Tuberculosis) and D.O. No. 53-03(Drug-Free Workplace) but no proof that it was submitted to DOLE due to the absence of a receiving copy. The FSIC shown to us was issued on 2012.
