MGB Caraga Meeting

Engr. Jaguit of representing OSHC attends the meeting invitation of MGB-Caraga in its office in Surigao City. The meeting started at 9:01AM presided by Engr. Glen Suante, Safety Engineer of MGB-Caraga. The Agenda of the meeting was about the death of three(3) local miners in Brgy. Ellaperal, Placer, Surigao del Norte. Here are some of the agreements on the said meeting:

• MGB Caraga will issue a Cease and Desist Order to suspend all illegal mining operations in Brgy. Ellaperal, Placer, Surigao del Norte

• MGB will encourage the local miners in Brgy, Ellaperal to conform to Minahan ng Bayan and legalize their mining activity

• DOLE Caraga will Issue Work Stoppage Order to all informal/illegal miners in Brgy. Ellaperal

• DOLE Caraga will encourage local miners in Brgy. Ellaperal to form an association and avail DOLE Livelihood programs as an alternative source of income

• OSHC REU Caraga will schedule an OSH Training for Local Miners who would conform to Minahan ng Bayan

• OSHC REU Caraga will schedule an OSH Training for Beneficiaries of DOLE Livelihood Program
