OSHC 9 Focal, Ms. Ma. Joy Reneeli C. Espinosa, assisted DOLE Regional Office 9 in conducting OSH Investigation in response to a workplace accident involving 5 construction workers in an on-going road construction project in Boalan, Zamboanga City.
It has been found that the excavation did not have any shoring thus resulted to collapse / erosion of part of the excavation. A worker was trapped under the rubble but was rescued and sustained only minor injuries. No fatalities were reported.
