15th National Occupational Safety and Health Congress and GKK National Awarding

OSHC conducted the bi-annual congress with the theme “Sustaining Decent Work through Occupational Safety and Health” which underscores the importance of safety and health as a core element of decent work. The congress highlighted the national and global OSH perspectives, innovative OSH practices of various industries, exemplary OSH program of GKK winners, strategies in establishing OSH services and programs for the SME and the informal sector as well as updates on OSH administration. Mr. Andayog acted as documenter during Session 1: OSH Program that Work and Session 8: Beating the current OSH challenges. Highlights of the open forum were submitted to TPID after the abovementioned activities. On November 18, fifteen (15) industries, one (1) government office, six (6) individuals and three (3) micro/informal enterprises received awards for the coveted Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan (GKK). Awardees from Region 5 were Petron Corporation – Legazpi Depot (Gold Award (Industry Category); Philippine Geothermal Production Company, Inc. (Silver Award (Industry Category) and Mr. Anselmo M. Puse Jr. (Silver Award (Individual Category).
