Meeting with Bicol OSHNet and On-site Validation at PGPC with Engr. Noel C. Binag

Engr. Oliver E. Aligan, Bicol OSHNet President, called the meeting to order at 12:00 PM after a qourum was declared. In the meeting, Engr. Noel C. Binag, Executive Director, emphasized the roles and responsibilities of OSHC in the conduct of OSH training and technical services. The OSHNet, through its pool of experts, will be involved in the conduct safety and health audit through Bicol Safety Patrol, accident investigation and other workplace assessment activities that the DOLE and OSHC provides to its clients.

OSHC plans to reduce the number of trainings to be conducted and cater to the needs of workers from the informal, micro, and other financially-challenged sectors. All OSHNets shall be helped to evolve into accredited STOs and tapped to address the training needs of potential safety officers. Resource speakers should be abreast with the latest OSH-related DOLE issuances by attending OSH related trainings and updates.

An on-site validation at Philippine Geothermal Production Company, Inc. situated at Tiwi, Albay was conducted in the afternoon. The activity includes presentation of company OSH programs and walkthrough of the company premises. PGPC has been recognized as the 2016 Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan (GKK) silver awardee in Industry Category during the 10th GKK National Awards and bagged the Regional Champion in the Region 5.
